The devoted company also focuses on the less fortunate by donating funds and resources to homes, health clinics and schools in Alexandra. By promoting staff and supporting their success, personal growth is enriched among the staff.

GIVING BACK

CHOC CHILDHOOD CANCER FOUNDATION

Childhood cancer has a profound effect on everyone it touches. With empathetic support and the right information, it is possible to not only survive its ravages but end up stronger, wiser and more compassionate. It is with this focus on compassion, that CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA was founded. As a countrywide organisation, we provide holistic support for children suffering from cancer and life-threatening blood disorders as well as their families.

DRANKENSTEIN WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Being proudly South African, we also feel the need to look after our heritage. We are proud to be supporters of Drankenstein Wildlife Sanctuary. Drakenstein takes care of abused lions, rescued not only from South Africa, but from around the world. Drakenstein brings the lions home – back to their motherland in the African sunshine, to rehabilitate and give them a second chance at life. We are pleased to have the opportunity to introduce two other Car World Panelbeating family members – Joy and Brutus, pictured right.

KITTY AND PUPPY HAVEN

We are also proud supporters of Kitty and Puppy Haven who have made a commitment to both the residents and the animals in Alexandra Township to provide them with greatly needed assistance.

LEARN TO EARN

Learn to Earn is a non-profit skills development and job creation organization, working with unemployed people from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. With its motto of  ‘a hand up – not a hand out,’ we seek to develop people, especially unemployed people, socially, economically, emotionally and spiritually. The vision is ‘to eradicate unemployment and other legacies of injustice in South Africa and Africa’. Through providing a programme that recognizes human dignity and the human right to live a meaningful life, we aim to assist individuals to regain their self-respect. We do this by empowering them to provide for themselves and for their families.

OLIVERS HOUSE

The village and organic farm is being designed as a fully integrated sustainable environment. This design meets the highest standards in earth friendly and efficiency terms. It will be self sufficient in terms of energy, water and food security and in the medium to long term economic sustainability will be achieved. Oliver’s House will have its own photo-voltaic electricity generation substation on site independent of Eskom. All water heating will be done through solar-thermal systems. Bio-gas digestion will provide a safe and sustainable gas supply for cooking and heating requirements.

ENVIRONMENT

Specially designed spray booths and spray guns reduce solvent emissions into the workshop and atmosphere.

All waste thinners, paint, glycol (radiator coolant), and oil are collected and disposed of by an accredited agent.

RECYCLING

Where possible Car World Panelbeating recycles waste materials, including paper, cardboard, plastics, glass, and metals.
